New look for Black Country law firm

One of the Black Country’s leading independent law firms has reinforced its commitment to its ‘local roots’ with the unveiling of a new corporate identity and a new office.

Talbots, which exited the national QualitySolicitors brand in May, marked the occasion at the official opening of its Waterloo Road premises in Wolverhampton and immediately committed to further investment in expanding its Residential Property, Business Services, Trusts and Estates teams.

More than £1m has been put aside for the rebranding, recruitment and additional properties, with further plans in place to improve offices in strategic locations.

“We have used our exit from the QS brand to really put a marker in the sand when it comes to our future direction and we wanted to ensure our clients knew we were committed to the local area and local people,” explained Mary Mocklow, Chief Executive at Talbots.

“The new brand has been designed to capture a simple, yet more modern style and carries the strapline ‘for law, for life’ which reflects our determination to support our clients across all the legal areas they will need us during their lives.”

She continued: “We have a new logo, a suite of marketing material and are upgrading the seven local offices in the network. A new website (www.talbotslaw.co.uk) has been created to reflect the new brand and our services to clients.”

Talbots employs 194 staff across offices in the Black Country, Staffordshire and Worcestershire, including Codsall, Dudley, Halesowen, Kidderminster, Stourbridge, Stourport and Wolverhampton,

It enjoyed 26% growth in income across its residential property portfolio last year and assisted thousands of clients on family issues, executing trusts and estates and delivering crucial business services.

Dedicated client care teams, extended weekday opening times (8am to 6pm), and Saturday openings (9am to 12pm) are all proving popular.

“We were delighted to announce the new brand to coincide with the official launch of our Wolverhampton office on Waterloo Road,” continued Mary.

“This gives us a much more prominent location in the heart of the city’s commercial district and in easy walking distance of the main shopping centre. It is also double the size of our previous site so gives us plenty of room for expansion and a much better open plan layout.”

She concluded: “Our strategy is to achieve £10m turnover by the end of this year and the decisions we have made in the first half of 2016 means we are in a good position to hit this target.”
