Swiss International upgrades Manchester Airport services with new Bombardier jet

Swiss International Air Lines has upgraded its services at Manchester Airport with the introduction of the new C Series aircraft from manufacturer Bombardier.

From this week, the airline will operate two flights every day between Manchester and Zurich using the CS100.

The 125-seater aircraft, which is reportedly only half as loud as comparable aircraft, boasts reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Felix Rodel, Swiss International’s director for UK and Ireland, said: “We’re delighted to be introducing the new C Series into our fleet and setting new standards in aircraft innovation, comfort and technology.”

Manchester Airport’s commercial director, Stephen Turner, at Manchester Airport, says: “We are thrilled to be one of the first destinations SWISS will fly to with their new CS100 aircraft.

“We believe passengers will enjoy the additional levels of comfort the aircraft offers and we’re sure it will also prove a hit with the aviation spotters who visit the airport.”
