Bruntwood introduces VR tech at Manchester and Leeds developments
Office space provider Bruntwood has announced a new virtual reality service that allows business owners to explore commercial developments before completion.
The Manchester-headquartered company is introducing the VR technology at its Platform development in Leeds and the Neo scheme in Manchester, with the offer likely to be rolled out to other projects in the future.
While Platform undergoes its transformation above Leeds station, agents and prospective customers have the option of exploring the building to see how it will look once complete through on-site Samsung Gear headsets, which will also soon be available at Neo in Manchester.
The virtual reality tour can also be accessed via Bruntwood’s website and viewed on screen or through with VR headsets. The service is likewise compatible with Google’s Cardboard VR tool.
The director of Bruntwood in Leeds, Craig Burrow, said: “Physical viewings provide the opportunity to get a sense of the scale and feel of a property, while the virtual reality allows you to bring the space to life before it exists.
“Our offices are brought to life by this technology, and shows potential customers how flexible the workspace is for the ever-changing world of work and how individual a new office could be.”
Bruntwood’s head of digital, Jamie Boulger, commented: “We’re constantly searching for innovative ways of improving our customer experience throughout every interaction with Bruntwood and this project has enabled us to significantly enhance the viewings of buildings during the development phase.
“Virtual reality represents an area of massive investment for the tech industry, evident by the fact that eight of the top ten companies in this sector are now involved, so this is more than a passing fad.”
He continued: “We’ve been following the progression of virtual reality for some time and are thrilled that it’s finally at a stage where we’re able to offer a great immersive experience to our customers.
“We’re looking forward to hearing the reaction as we roll this out across our other flagship developments.”
