Ryanair to introduce new Moroccan route at Liverpool John Lennon Airport

Irish airline Ryanair has extended its Winter 2016 schedule at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) with a new route to Morocco.

The carrier’s new service, connecting Merseyside with Marrakesh, will operate twice weekly from October 31.

In addition to Marrakesh, Ryanair will now be operating services between LJLA and Sofia in Bulgaria, Bergerac in France, Italy’s Pisa, the Portuguese city of Porto and Szczecin in Poland.

Additionally, the firm will also provide five weekly flights to Alicante and four to Malaga.

Robin Kiely, Ryanair’s head of communications, said: “We are pleased to extend our Liverpool winter 2016 schedule with a new route to Marrakesh, which will operate twice weekly from October 31 and our 25 winter routes will help deliver 1.9m customers this year and support 1,400 on-site jobs at Liverpool Airport.”

The head of communications at LJLA, Robin Tudor, commented: “We are delighted to welcome this further expansion of Ryanair’s network at Liverpool Airport with more flights on some of our key routes, and the addition of another new destination.

“This growth reaffirms the airport’s commitment to expanding international connections for the Region, providing more choice to the travelling public, not only in the City of Liverpool but from across the North West and North Wales; whilst also delivering a ‘faster, easier and friendlier’ journey through the airport.”
