Nelson-based agency Door4 to create jobs with £120k loan
A digital agency in Lancashire is taking on new members of staff after securing a six-figure funding boost.
The £120k investment, which will allow Nelson-based Door4 to create four jobs, came from Lancashire Rosebud Finance – a loan package managed by venture capital firm Enterprise Ventures on behalf of the county council’s economic development organisation, Lancashire County Developments Ltd (LCDL).
Door4 was first backed by Rosebud in early 2014 and, since then, has expanded its offer to include SEO and other digital marketing services.
The founder and managing director of Door4, Leon Calverley, said: “This latest investment from Rosebud gives us backing to continue our growth plans.
“We’ve got a lot of exciting development ahead of us, especially as our core growth area of marketing automation becomes commonplace amongst enterprising businesses.”
He continued: “The digital marketing field is increasingly competitive, and you have to be that bit better every day.
“With Rosebud behind us, we have that extra impetus for growth and improvement.”
Elsewhere, Door4 has acquired a licence for marketing automation software Marketo and received Google Partner status, allowing the firm to expand its network of potential customers.
Peter Rooney, an investment manager with Enterprise Ventures, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of investment group Mercia Technologies PLC, commented: “It is fantastic to see a business from the Rosebud portfolio achieve such growth. Rosebud is committed to supporting and growing businesses within the region, thus creating more jobs for the community.
“Leon and the team at Door4 are doing a great job of scaling their business and I am delighted that we can support them.”
The chair of LCDL, County Cllr Niki Penney, said: “We’re always proud when a company receives funding and support from Rosebud to improve their business, and then returns to us for the next stage of their plans. It really demonstrates the value of Rosebud.
“Leon and the Door4 team are enthusiastic and very keen to share their marketing knowledge, which will benefit other businesses around Lancashire.”
