Liverpool FC Main Stand update: Trees arrive on site from Germany

Development of the Main Stand at Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium hit a new milestone this week as work on greenery within the public realm got underway.

Imported oak trees grown in Germany’s Black Forest were allowed to acclimatise to British weather in a local nursery before becoming the first trees installed outside Anfield.

In addition to the oaks, the grove also features acer or maple trees, chosen for their distinctive red leaves.

Over 70 trees will be installed along with holly hedges and red flowers in the public space, which reconnects Anfield with the nearby Stanley Park.

Work to keep the plants watered over the summer months is already underway. Liverpool have confirmed that landscapers are visiting the site every day to check their progress.
