IPG Mediabrands acquires Leeds content group in reported £20m deal
Media group IPG Mediabrands has acquired rising search and content firm Stickyeyes in a deal worth a reported £20m.
The search firm, which has offices in London, Peterborough and Leeds, is to become part of the global IPG family but will continue to operate under its Stickeyes and Zazzle Media brands.
Prolific North report that the deal for the Stickyeyes Group, which will significantly expand IPG’s reach in the North, is believed to be in the region of £20m and follows the acquisition of mobile developer Mubaloo in February.
Leeds-headquartered Stickyeyes’ reputation has been on the rise after being recently named as the Best Large Integrated Agency at the 2016 European Search Awards, the firm has also grown to 140 employees and counts some big clients including Staples and Superdry.
Craig Chalmers, Chief Executive Officer at Stickyeyes Group, commented: “It was obvious when we first met, that IPG Mediabrands’ and our ambitions were aligned.
“Their expertise in media buying, programmatic and data will combine seamlessly with our audience-focused digital engagement approach to create something that we believe is truly unique in the market.”
Managing Director of Search and Social at IPG, Craig Lister, said that the acquisition was part of the group’s ‘commitment’ to the needs of their clients and continues the momentum built up by the acquisition of Mubaloo earlier in the year.
He added: “Without doubt, this move enhances opportunities for both existing and new clients. The combined knowledge of Stickyeyes, Reprise (our existing search practice), Ansible (full service mobile) and Cadreon (our programmatic practice) offers a complementary skill set that will deliver the scale and expertise to service the toughest client briefs in the most creative and relevant ways imaginable.”
