New Look to expand at intu Trafford Centre
Fashion retailer New Look is set to boost its presence at intu Trafford Centre with a new flagship womenswear store and expanded men’s shop.
Shopping centre owner intu has agreed terms with the high street clothing brand for an extra 19,000 sq ft at its Greater Manchester complex.
As part of the project, three units across two levels will merge to create a 20,900 sq ft flagship New Look store this winter.
New Look Men, meanwhile, will move into a new 6,000 sq ft unit two-thirds larger than its current store, which launched in 2015.
intu has helped New Look roll its standalone menswear concept out nationally, with other New Look Men stores now operational at intu Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent, intu Merry Hill near Dudley and intu Metrocentre in Gateshead.
New Look’s managing director for the UK and Republic of Ireland, Danny Barrasso, said: “Due to the huge success of our menswear standalone store which opened last year, New Look Men are very excited to be relocating to a larger space within intu Trafford Centre.
“We are also thrilled to be opening a flagship womenswear store where we are able to offer our New Look customers an even better shopping experience.”
With annual footfall above the 31m mark, intu Trafford Centre is one of the biggest shopping and leisure destinations in the UK.
intu regional director Colin Flinn commented: “The combination of intu Trafford Centre’s vibrant fashion-led offer and high number of affluent and female customers make it the perfect location for fashion retailers like New Look.
“Our national presence and distinctive approach to asset management means we’ve also been well placed to help launch New Look’s standalone menswear concept across the country with half of New Look Men stores at intu centres.”
He added: “These two fantastic units will really build on the success New Look has experienced with us at intu Trafford Centre.”
