National hospitality specialist expands into London

National hospitality specialist Vantage has taken on new premises on Farringdon Road, Clerkenwell, in readiness for 25% growth and its 40th year in business.

Established in 1977 as a commercial plants company, Leeds-headquartered Vantage has grown to become a 13-strong, £1.8m turnover organisation, supplying a range of interior greenery and luxury refreshments solutions. With more than 400 clients throughout the UK, its customer-base includes national and global brands such as JCT600, Virgin Trains East Coast, Holiday Inn and property giant Savills.

But as the company prepares for its next phase of development, there seemed no better time to invest in a permanent presence in the city.

Managing director Robin Edwards explains: “We’re no strangers to this internationally renowned creative district. Clerkenwell Design Week is a firm fixture on our calendars and, with many of our customers, architects and interior fit-out partners based in the South, we’re frequent visitors to this part of the capital.

“But we knew that to enable organisations in London to truly experience our products and services, we’d need to fully immerse ourselves in the city.”

Vantage has therefore invested £40,000 into the fit out of a studio shared with premier design and installation firm Maxwood Washrooms. The space will showcase a number of Vantage’s products including commercial bean-to-cup coffee machines, green walls made entirely from plants and other interior greenery displays.

The expansion coincides with a significant refurbishment of Vantage’s Leeds site. Offering some concluding thoughts, Robin comments: “We specialise in creating stimulating client spaces that leave lasting impressions. It is therefore important that our own premises emulate that philosophy, to inspire the architects, designers and customers that we work with.”
