Azimo deepens social media integration with launch of Facebook bot advisor

Azimo, the London-based digital money transfer company, is to further integrate it services with Facebook with the launch of its Azimo bot.

The feature, announced today by the FinTech firm, will be the world’s first money transfer bot that users can communicate with through the Facebook Messenger app.

Users will be able to probe the bot about latest rates, available countries and delivery methods 24 hours a day, with full integration with the Azimo app, and continues the tech firm’s integration with Facebook after launching a feature which allows users to transfer money within the Messenger app.

Initially only available in English, the new Azimo bot is the first feature to stem from Azimo Labs, the open-source developer community housed within the company that aims to solves real-world problems with developments in tech.

Azimo Chief Executive Officer, Michael Kent said that the new bot was a way to make it even easier for its users to transfer money.

He said: “We’re always searching for ways to make money transfer easier for our customers. The ability to have a fast and informative conversation with Azimo via Facebook Messenger is a great new alternative to opening our app or calling our customer service team.

“Money transfers should be as easy as sending a message to a friend and we strongly believe that artificial intelligence technologies that put customers back in control of their money are the future of financial services. This bot is just the beginning.”

The launch comes after Google revealed that an AI bot would be a key feature in its new Allo messenger platform, taking the concept of intelligent bots even further into the mainstream.
