Nightel Humber hotel delivers UK first with takeaway app Just Eat
Nightel Humber, a hotel based on Humberside Airport, has become the first UK business to sell corporate buffets through takeaway food app Just Eat.
The hotel, which provides specialists accommodation for offshore workers in the oil and gas and wind energy industries, will deliver food for business meetings and events to companies within an 11-mile radius of the airport.
As well as corporate buffets, Nightel Humber will deliver to food to private households also within an 11-mile radius.
All food is freshly cooked by chefs in the hotel kitchens and includes pizza, fajitas, burgers, chicken dishes, ribs and a range of drinks and desserts.
Paul Green, owner of Nightel Humber, said: “The way people are ordering food is changing.
“Apps and mobile technology means people can order what they want when they want and they expect it to be delivered to their door.
“If you go across the Humber Bridge, just into Hessle, you find there are loads of takeaways available on Just Eat but not here, so we decided as we already cook fresh foods for guests at the hotel, we could extend that, set up a delivery service and help to redress that balance.”
Mr Green then he decided to extend the takeaway service to corporate buffets for businesses across the region – a first for the food app.
He said: “We looked at what Just Eat offered and the service we were capable of providing and realised there was an opportunity to provide corporate buffets as well as takeaways.
“It is such an easy way of ordering your catering for a whole range of board and business meetings, networking events, talks and expos, compared with the drawn out, traditional ways. Simply tap the app and let us deliver food for your business events.
“And the great thing is you don’t have to do order it weeks in advance, because of mobile technology we can sort it out the same day, leaving you free to concentrate on creating a great event for clients, or whoever your guests may be.”
