Another big tech firm has joined Apple in committing to London with new HQ

Following on from Apple committing itself to new offices at Battersea Power Station, software firm Campaign Monitor, which also has a base in San Francisco, has announced it is to open new European headquarters in London.

In what is another high-profile endorsement for the capital, the tech firm, which provides automated marketing software and services, will move into new premises in Shoreditch to support its growing European workforce.

The move will also entail the creation of 100 new roles within the next two years and will be the forerunner for a new European data centre to support its growing client list on the continent.

Chief Executive Officer, Alex Bard, commented: “Our investment in growing Campaign Monitor’s team in the UK underscores our commitment to customers in Europe.

“Our growing team will support the accelerated momentum we’ve seen in the region and help our customers grow their businesses with the No. 1 digital marketing channel, email marketing.”

Founded in 2004, Campaign Monitor provides fast growing businesses with automated, targeted email marketing campaigns and boasts a client list of 200,000 businesses that includes Topshop, Buzzfeed and Adidas.

In setting up base in London, the San Francisco tech firm adds itself to the list of US businesses, including Facebook, Google and Wells Fargo, who have further entrenched themselves in the capital since Brexit.

Yesterday (Wednesday) tech giant Apple announced that it had agreed to take six floors, totally 500,000 sq ft at the central Boiler House building on the Battersea Power Station development, which it plans to move into by 2021.
