Retailers reap the rewards as startup pop-up pops up at Piccadilly

Three independent retailers have been given the chance to show off their goods at Piccadilly Station thanks to a partnership between Startups.co.uk and Sage.

The pop-up shop, which has been set up at the major London railway station this week, has given UK retailers Cocofina, Soapsmith and Letterbox Hamper space to encourage consumers to shop local.

Cocofina, which specialises in coconut-based products; handmade bath and beauty products company Soapsmith, and startup Letterbox Hamper which makes personalised gift hampers, fought off competition from hundreds of entries and each received a budget of £500 to fit out the pop-up space.

It is the second time the Startups.co.uk has partnerd with the accounting software firm, following Valentines-themed pop-up concept on Old Street back in February.

Megan Dunsby, Features and News Editor at Startups.co.uk, commented: “The #startupspopup at Piccadilly Station has enabled three great independent retail businesses to reap the benefits of the exposure and footfall that a prime Central London retail space provides. What’s more, the pop-up shop aligns with our aims to help encourage the nation to shop small.”

Evan O’Shea, Marketing Campaign Manager at Sage, added: “Sage has a long history in supporting UK start-ups and we are delighted to be part of this fantastic competition. It is an incredible opportunity for the winners to showcase their products in a prime retail location.”
