Tottenham Hotspur Stadium update: New North Stand begins to take shape

Premier League football Tottenham Hotspur have released new images that show current progress on the club’s new £400m stadium.

New stands at the Northumberland Park development are already beginning to take shape after construction began last month on the first floor slab across the new North Stand.

Construction firm Mace, who are carrying out the work, have already had to remove the North East corner of Spurs’ current White Hart Lane home to make way for the new 61,000 seater stadium.

The stadium, which is due to open in time for the 2018/19 season, is part of wider regeneration efforts in the Tottenham area which includes a new £450m mixed-use housing development.

Commenting back in August, the club said that the area in and around White Hart Lane will be undergoing massive changes in the coming months as work on the site kicks into gear.

“As the new stadium starts to come out of the ground, more visible signs of progress will occur during the coming months, with the arrival of a new large crawler crane weighing around 400 tonnes.

“The crawler crane will be brought on site ready to manage the movement of the large pre-cast rakers, which are the large beams that will support the terrace units and weigh up to 30 tonnes each,” the club said in a statement.
