Thousands engage with Simply Better Events Northern roadshows
Rather than choosing the new seat design for its new fleet of trains from their head office in York, Northern wanted to reach out to engage employees and customers, involving them in the decision. So, together with Simply Better Events, they took the new seat options on a roadshow with a difference.
Twelve events ran in stations across the network, where thousands of Northern customers voted with their bottoms for their favourite seat design. People were greeted with three types of seat to relax in while they considered which they’d like to be installed in Northern’s 98 new trains, due to start arriving from 2018.
Helen Kettleborough, Head of Communications, Northern, said: “Simply Better Events pulled out all the stops to help us design and build a customer experience that travelled around our network. We had a short time to turn around a large scale roadshow and thousands of customers have now interacted with the exhibition and we have generated some fantastic engagement.”
Rob Woodhead, MD, Simply Better Events, added: “Northern’s plans to transform rail travel in the North are welcomed by commuters. It’s been great to see so many of their customers interacting with the September roadshows. Feedback will directly influence and help to shape the future of rail travel across the network, and further interactive events to engage commuters in the North are planned.”
