Mexican taco restaurant coming to Soho this autumn
A new casual eatery serving up Mexican-style tacos is on course to launch this November in the heart of Soho.
The Corazón restaurant has taken a site on Poland Street, consisting of a 830 sq ft ground floor and 365 sq ft basement, on a 20-year lease after restaurant agent Restaurant Property acquired the site on their behalf.
Inspired by Mexico City’s Condesa neighbourhood, the new venue is headed up by Texan Laura Sheffield who has over a decade experience managing London venues including Corbin and King’s Fischer’s and The Riding House Cafe.
With room for 55-covers, Corazón will offer cerviches, tostadas and salads, cooked up by its head chef Paul Daniel, including homemade, freshly-prepared tortillas.
Daniel has over 20 year’s experience in the capital’s culinary scene following stints at Sartoria, Smiths of Smithfield, as well as Head Chef roles at The Luxe in Spitalfields and The Riding House Cafe.
His most recent role saw him taking the mantle of Executive Chef for the Village London group.
Once open in November the restaurant will be open seven days a week, serving food and drink until midnight Thursday to Saturday.
