Work on the 40,000 sq ft, six-storey scheme got underway in August

All units sold at £6.5m Liverpool student development

All units at Pembroke Studios in Liverpool have sold off-plan just six weeks after work on the student scheme got underway.

Yu Property Group (YPG) is the developer behind the £6.5m project, which will see the city’s Salters Building turned into 94 student studios designed by Liverpool-based architects Smith Young.

Work on the 40,000 sq ft, six-storey scheme got underway in August.

In addition to the apartments, Pembroke Studios will comprise ground-floor retail space, cycle storage and laundry facilities, and a student management office.

Located at 4-10 Pembroke Place next to Lime Street Station, Liverpool University’s north campus and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, planning permission for the development was obtained in July last year.

YPG’s managing director, Jonathan Yu, said: “Just six weeks since builders moved on to the site, the response to Pembroke Studios has been huge.

“It’s an exciting time for Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, and with LJMU’s Copperas Hill development underway just around the corner, the studios are a great addition to the ongoing investment in the area.”

He added: “Overseas interest has been key to the overwhelming success of Pembroke Studios, and with investors’ interest in the city’s residential offering remaining strong in the wake of Brexit, their faith in Liverpool’s property market is evident.”

Pembroke Studios is due for completion in July 2017.
