The Standing Stone Farm office development will open early in 2017.

Matfen Estates unveils eco-friendly office development in Northumberland

A new eco-friendly office space has been unveiled within a family-owned estate near Matfen Village, Northumberland.

Matfen Estates, owner of the Matfen Hall Hotel, is developing Standing Stone Farm; an 8000 sq ft rural courtyard office scheme.

Comprised of 12 self-contained units, ranging from 22 sq m to 160 sq m in size, over two floors, the development features a range of environmentally friendly facilities as well as strong broadband connection.

Heating and hot water are provided by a sustainable biomass system powered by locally sourced timber, which is dried and chipped on the estate itself.

There is also an electric car charging point and ample parking, including a CCTV monitored covered cycle store.

The fully managed site incorporates showering, changing and kitchen facilities, disabled access and parking and offers 24-hour access to tenants.

In addition, Standing Stone Farm tenants will also benefit from reduced rate accommodation, dining and golf and spa visits at the nearby four star Matfen Hall Hotel.

Sir Hugh Blackett, the owner of Matfen Estates, said: “The development has been long time in the planning.

“It is a secure, attractive and peaceful working environment, at the heart of the countryside but within easy distance from Newcastle and Hexham.”

The development will open early in 2017.
