Comms agency Filament PR launches in County Durham
Two names from the North East’s booming brand communications scene have teamed up to launch a new PR agency for the lifestyle, leisure and entertainment industries.
Jason Knights from Gateshead-based Blue Kangaroo Design and Anne-Marie Lacey, named ‘outstanding young communicator’ by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations North East, have come together to create Filament PR.
The County Durham-based duo will work with clients in the North East and beyond, providing PR and communications services such as media and blogger relations, content marketing, social media and SEO PR.
While Jason will manage the business’ day-to-day running in addition to maintaining his post at Blue Kangaroo Design, Anne-Marie will lead on Filament PR’s client-facing work.
Jason Knights, Filament PR’s managing director, said: “Having worked in the design and brand communications industry for over 10 years, I spotted a business opportunity to expand my interests to include a PR and communications agency a while ago, after several of my clients at Blue Kangaroo asked for recommendations of PR agencies.
“After meeting Anne-Marie and working with her on PR projects for Blue Kangaroo and seeing the benefits her work has brought to the business, I knew she was the right person to co-found and launch a PR agency with; if I can trust the reputation of my own business with Anne-Marie, I can confidently recommend my clients work with her too.”
Filament PR is now looking to expand its client portfolio, having already worked with an unnamed entertainment industry heavyweight.
Anne-Marie Lacey, the company’s PR and communications director, commented: “How brands communicate with their customers and those that influence them is changing, and that provides businesses doing PR properly with so many opportunities.
