North West solicitor establishes Burnley law firm with startup loan support
Solicitor Hannah Paddock is about to form her own legal practice in Burnley town centre after securing a startup loan through Business Finance Solutions (BFS).
Hannah, who has more than 10 years’ experience as a solicitor, will provide legal advice at fixed prices with her new business Vanguard Law Solicitors.
The company will focus on areas such as property, wills, probate, family, care proceedings, mental capacity and vulnerable adults.
Hannah said she decided to establish her own firm after realising, having worked for both a local high street firm and a national solicitors, that it is possible to offer expert legal advice for a reasonable price without compromising quality of service.
The startup loan will be invested in technology as Vanguard looks to slash overheads and pass the savings on to clients within its fixed-price structure.

Commenting on the launch, Hannah said: “I had thought about setting up my own practice for a number of years and securing the low cost finance I needed from BFS meant I was able to make the move far quicker.
“I want to bring a new type of law practice to the local area, offering the same expert legal advice but at a fixed cost and with friendly service.”
Alternative loan provider BFS, a lending partner of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, is the North West delivery partner of the government’s national £310m Start Up Loans programme.
BFS director Paul Breen commented: “Like many ambitious professionals, Hannah has spent many years building up her reputation in her field and was ready to break away and set up on her own.
“Hannah had already established extensive contacts and legal contracts for her new business and, when she was ready to start up on her own, we were able to step in and provide the low interest finance she needed to get her office up and running.”
