Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has welcomed the newest operator to carry passengers to and from the Airport.

Aintree-based operator Northwest Coachline will now provide links closer to home, with regular departures by coach between the Airport and Manchester city centre.

Northwest Coachlines’ new service operates up to 13 return journeys each day from Manchester Shudehill Interchange and Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The coach schedule is aimed to link with as many departing and arriving flights as possible at LJLA throughout the day, with the first departure from Manchester at 04:00 and the last departure from the airport at 23:50.

The daily service has one way fares from £8 for adults and £7.50 for children aged 5-15, with under 5’s able to travel for free.

Each year hundreds of thousands of passengers who choose to use Liverpool John Lennon Airport, travel either from or too Manchester city centre and this figure is set to increase further following the Airport’s recent route expansion.

Steve Elms of Northwest Coachlines commented: “We are delighted to have been able to reinstate the express bus service to Manchester City Centre in partnership with the Airport and look forward to welcoming customers on to our fast, reliable, value for money service on this important route which provides many opportunities for onward travel to the North West region and beyond”

“This new direct service linking LJLA with Manchester city centre couldn’t be more convenient with the coach picking up and dropping off passengers at the front of the terminal building and will be welcomed by thousands of passengers who wish to use public transport.”
