Law firm Napthens eyes ‘continued growth’ with new Blackburn base

North West law firm Napthens has expanded its presence in East Lancashire after moving to larger premises.

The new Blackburn base, described by chief exec John Whittingslow as “a big step forward” for the company, will allow Napthens to target a wider geographic reach and ramp up plans for job creation.

The firm’s East Lancashire staff, previously working from Challenge Way on Greenbank Business Park, relocated to Darwen House on Walker Business Park this week (November 28).

Napthens currently employs a team of 50 in Blackburn, including partners, solicitors and support staff. John Whittingslow commented: “We have had a strong presence in East Lancashire for many years, but it’s become clear for some time that in order to grow our presence in East Lancashire, and to further our reach into Manchester and the surrounding areas, we needed room to grow.

“We continue to attract lawyers out of the larger city firms through the quality and strength of our client base and by offering an excellent working environment.”

He added: “We are proud of the quality and expertise of our people – and this expertise is so important to us as we develop our business and continue to persuade businesses from across the region that there is no need to go to Manchester for a quality service.”

The head of Napthens’ East Lancashire office, partner Oliver McCann, said the move reflects the office’s “significant growth” in recent years.

Oliver continued: “We are not moving simply to accommodate new staff, but to allow for continued growth in the future.

“East Lancashire is full of success stories and we’re pleased to be advising successful businesses as they undergo growth of their own.”
