9 new faces on board as Gateshead’s Atomhawk prepares for ‘exciting new projects’
Gateshead-based digital art and design studio Atomhawk has increased its team by 25% in the last four months, employing an additional nine staff members.
The new hires include eight new artists hailing from diverse locations as South Africa, Iran and Australia.
In addition, Becky Jackson joins as Account Manager to head up the studio’s production team, bolstering its ability to deliver exceptional service to clients such as Warner Brothers, Marvel and Lego.
Principal Artist Drew Whitmore has come all the way from USA to join the team having previously played vital roles at games studios Vicarious Visions and Carbine Studios where he worked on brands including Wildstar, Guitar Hero and Skylanders.
He commented: “I’m delighted to be joining Atomhawk at such an exciting time in the studio’s development. It’s great to be involved in leading such a diverse and talented team of artists and to see the variety of projects taking place across the full spectrum of game and film production, from concept art to user interface design, animation, virtual reality and marketing art”.
Cumron Ashtiani, Atomhawk CEO, said: “We’ve just taken on additional space in our current building and turned it into a great looking meeting and games room so we could free up space in the main studio for all the new faces.
“We’re all looking forward to further growth in size and turnover in 2017 and to celebrating some of the really exciting new projects we have in the pipeline.”
