National Award for Local Company

Applebridge Construction Ltd, a North East based Civil Engineering and Groundworks Sub-Contractor, has been successful in the Constructing Excellence National Awards in the category of Health and Safety, held in November.

Applebridge Construction, which was established in Middlesbrough in 2013, initially won the North East Regional Awards in the category of “Health and Safety” in June this year. This is the first time a newly established Sub-Contractor has won the Regional awards and saw Applebridge competing against companies with a national presence who have been in business for many years. Applebridge won the prestigious award due to raising health and safety standards within the housing industry, continually invest in training, invested in a North East based Construction Skills Training Centre and listened to their staff regarding their ideas for making improvements.

Following on from their Regional win, Applebridge made the shortlist for the National Health and Safety Award. The awards ceremony included main contractors and key players in the construction industry from around the UK.

Applebridge placed second on the evening by receiving the “highly commended” award for Health and Safety. Feedback from the judges included comments about the company commitment to health and safety good practice across all of their sites and office locations throughout the North East and Yorkshire.
