Lees-based Spic N Span eyes growth with Barclays loan
A dry cleaning business in Greater Manchester has set its sights on growth after securing financial support from Barclays Business.
Lees-based Spic N Span, a provider of hand-finished dry cleaning services, has used the undisclosed loan to support the purchase of its St Thomas’s Parade premises.
The company is owned by Iqrar Mohammed, whose father has operated dry cleaning firms for more than 30 years.
Iqrar believes the deal has given his company a solid platform for growth in the future.
He said: “Barclays have shown great faith in our family businesses over the years and I am very excited about my first venture into the dry cleaning industry.
“I have learnt a great deal from my father over the past few decades and I am proud to be running my own business alongside my sister and brother who also have their own shops.”
He added: “The business is in a great position to grow over the next few years and we are grateful for the continued support of Barclays, who are an integral part of our team.”
The arrangement was structured by Barclays Business Manager Wayne Dixon.
Wayne commented: “By working closely with the family and really understanding their various businesses, Barclays has been able to support Iqrar as he embarks on his own journey in the dry cleaning business.
“The opportunities are there for dynamic people who want to run businesses they are passionate about, and we want to help them achieve those ambitions, in the right way.”
