Trio of internationally acclaimed female chefs plot 2017 London openings
Three highly acclaimed female chefs are set to open new eateries in the capital in the early months of 2017 as London continues to flex its muscles as a global culinary hotspot.
The first opening sees renowned French chef Anne-Sophie Pic, who is the only female chef to boast three Michelin stars, joining together with the Four Seasons Ten Trinity Square to helm La Dame de Pic.
Opening on 26 January, the restaurant will serve ‘creative’ French cuisine within a ‘classic English environment’ and will be Pic’s first restaurant in the UK.
Another high-profile opening sees Finnish chef Helena Puolakka head up D&D London’s Aster restaurant at the Nova complex in Victoria.
Housed within a 10,000 sq ft space designed by Russell Sage Studios, the menu will blend Nordic influences with French techniques and feature a cafe and deli on the ground floor with an upstairs restaurant and bar.
Rounding off the trio of new eateries is Chef Martha Ortiz’s new restaurant at the Intercontinental London Park Lane hotel, where Ortiz will bring her internationally acclaimed Mexican gastronomy to the capital in the Spring.
Ortiz helms Mexico City’s award-winning Dulce Patria which is regarded as one of Latin America’s most exciting restaurants and draws on deep Mexican food traditions.
Helping her bring her London restaurant to life will be David Collins Studio, drawing on her Mexican heritage with references to Mexican design and culture.
