Axel Arigato now using GoInStore’s retail technology

Axel Arigato brings flagship store experience to online customers worldwide using GoInStore

Handcrafted designer trainers brand Axel Arigato is now using first-person shopping technology from GoInStore to serve global shoppers in real-time from debut UK shop

Axel Arigato has significantly enhanced the shopping experience for its online customers this Christmas. With the recent implementation of GoInStore retail technology, online customers are now provided with a live interactive virtual tour of the company’s flagship shop in Soho, London. The technology allows the website visitor to interact with the store sales advisors, delivering a true first person experience from the comfort of their home.

This is the first step into the fashion world for first-person shopping technology specialist, GoInStore, whose partnership with Axel Arigato coincides with the launch of the luxury trainer brand’s first ever independent UK shop.

Abin Johansson, co-founder of Axel Arigato, said: “Our new shop opened in 2016 and, right away, we knew we had to differentiate the customer experience from other retail destinations. We explored different ways to engage with customers, such as hosting live events, holding art exhibitions in the store and now connecting virtually by using GoInStore’s pioneering technology to help set us apart as an innovative retail destination. This is the just the start; we are also looking forward to promoting our brand internationally through the partnership with GoInStore from our debut UK customer base.”

GoInStore’s cloud-based retail technology transports online customers who visit Axel Arigato’s website from anywhere in the world to Axel Arigato’s Soho shop, to be served in-store in real-time, without having to be physically present.

Axel Arigato can now also offer extended UK shop opening hours virtually, using the space to its greatest extent by having shop assistants use the GoInStore service to engage with international customers in different time zones outside of UK shop opening hours.

Albin continued: “By offering better customer experience and pushing the boundaries of online shopping, we are giving our worldwide customers an in-store hangout experience conveyed via a digital format. We believe that Axel Arigato is offering something new to the fashion world, in partnership with GoInStore.”

By forgoing traditional channel and engaging with customers directly, Axel Arigato is still a fairly new brand that, with one foot in fashion and the other in technology, sells its range of affordable luxury trainers to over 120 countries, making it accessible to consumers worldwide.

André Hordagoda, GoInStore’s co-founder, commented: “Axel Arigato’s largest customer bases are the US, UK and Sweden, so harnessing the all-access benefits of our cloud-based technology enables it to reach a further field of potential buyers in countries across the world. By building upon its customer base and increasing awareness of this niche retail technology, Axel Arigato is in effect offering online customers the ability to trial the future of retail technology now.

An added advantage, for Axel Arigato, is that customers who have used our technology have a stronger propensity to purchase so we anticipate the company seeing a significant increase in December sales as a result of this partnership.“

Abin Johansson concluded: “We chose to open our first ever standalone shop in London because the UK capital is forward-thinking in fashion and technology. Through the use of GoInStore’s technology, an increasing number of visitors have now been shown around our flagship Soho store. We’ve already seen a 20 to 30 per cent increase in sales while receiving interest from customers from as far afield as Asia and Africa, who can now visit our UK store without having to travel to London to do so. The type of technology in play here is the future of retail and it is already changing the way that buyers shop.”
