Bury’s Roxtec chosen for £1.5bn North Sea wind farm scheme

North West manufacturer Roxtec has landed a contract to deliver safety seals for an ambitious £1.5bn North Sea wind farm project.

The Bury-based cable and pipe seal maker will help safeguard workers, structures and equipment by providing cable transit systems for a substation platform being built as part of the Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm development.

A range of Roxtec’s sealing solutions will be used on the platform, which will be located 20 miles off the Norfolk shoreline.

Once complete, the wind farm’s turbines will generate power for 410k UK homes.

Graham O’Hare, the managing director of Roxtec UK, said: “We have been chosen for this ambitious renewable energy project because we are industry leaders in sealing solutions for the renewables sector.

“We have been involved in cable sealing projects across more than 40 offshore wind farms in Europe.”

He continued: “The Dudgeon wind farm project will see the delivery of customised bulkhead and deck seals. Roxtec’s expert team has also been actively involved in the design of the platform seals, harnessing more than 15 years’ experience in offshore industries.”

Speaking further, Graham said his team will also provide training as part of the Dudgeon deal.
