Ice-cream company Cooldelight Desserts invests in Lancashire site
Ice-cream business Cooldelight Desserts has acquired new premises in Lancashire after seeing its turnover grow “significantly” during the last year.
The company is moving its eight-strong team into a new site at Carr Bank Lodge in the centre of Ramsbottom, with the help of an undisclosed funding package from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
Cooldelight currently trades from rented premises at Cuba Business Park on Bolton Road North.
With a full refurb of the new base now underway, the firm hopes to complete the move at some point later this year.
Founded in 2005, Cooldelight increased its turnover to £10m in 2016.
The firm focuses on supplying ice-cream and frozen dessert products to the public sector education and healthcare portion of the UK foodservice market, operating from its UK production site and a second in Belgium.
Cooldelight Desserts Ltd director Stephen Binns said: “Our turnover has increased substantially over the last year and we are delighted to be in a position to invest in our own premises.
“We are looking forward to moving to the Carr Bank Lodge site and growing the business further.”
He added: “As our business expands, we are striving to bring into our range, dessert products which are suitable for the independent ‘profit sector’ in addition to our core products for the public sector.”
Gavin Elmes, senior relationship manager at RBS, commented: “Cooldelight Desserts Ltd is a very impressive local business and one we are delighted to assist.
“They have enjoyed fantastic growth recently and it made sense for them to move from rented premises and to invest in acquiring their own site.”
