Turnover rise sees Durham maintenance firm close in on scaleup status
Durham-based Beaumont Grounds Maintenance has reported a record breaking year, increasing both its staffing levels and turnover.
The family-run firm, which specialises in maintaining grounds and sports pitches, reported £625k in turnover for the year ended December 2016, up 20% on 2015.
Beaumont, which also enjoyed a 36% turnover rise in 2015 on 2014, added four new members of staff to its team in 2016, bringing its total workforce to employing 15 people.
Forecasting sales of £750k for 2017, whilst aiming to continue to create new North East jobs, MD Alexander Lineton is determined to keep the business on a trajectory of scaling up from its base at Aycliffe Business Park.
Alexander said: “Our fantastic team has been essential in the growing success of Beaumont and I would like to thank them for their continued efforts.
“We’re aiming to bring in new members of staff in 2017 and deepen the management structure of the business.
“We expect to have completed full accreditation for an ISO integrated management system, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001, and we will be fully accredited by the end of January 2017.
“This will be the culmination of many months and years’ hard work and endeavour to gain accreditation which will enable us to push us into new fields and win new large-scale tenders to support our ambitious growth plan.”
Looking to the business’ sales future, Alexander added: “In 2017 we expect sales to grow to £750,000 and to £900,000 – up from just under £500,000 two years ago – and as we grow we’ll need to invest in local employment, so this year we aim to add at least three new employees to the team and our workforce to 22 by 2018, doubling staff numbers from two years ago.”
