Craft beer and Indian street food entrepreneurs find success with their first venue

Manchester-based Indian street food restaurant, Bundobust, has enjoyed a successful first month in business after proving a success with the city’s diners.

The restaurant opened on Piccadilly Street in December after securing £230k funding from Natwest, and since then been a popular haunt on Manchester’s dining circuit, attracting several awards and effusive reviews.

The brainchild of entrepreneurs Mayur Patel and Mark Husak, the Bundobust Manchester follows on from the pair’s first successful venture, Bundobust Leeds, which opened in 2014.

According to the restaurateurs, the 150-cover restaurant venue, which specialises in Indian street food and craft beer, necessitated the creation of around 10 new jobs, including kitchen and front of house roles.

Following a successful first month, Mayur Patel said: “We are blown away by how popular Bundobust Manchester has been. The feedback and online reviews from diners have been overwhelmingly positive.

“Opening in Manchester was the obvious next step for us as a business. We could never have done this without NatWest, which supported us with our start-up costs when we launched our Leeds restaurant three years ago.

“We are very excited to see what the rest of the year has to bring for both of our restaurants and we look forward to welcoming even more diners through our doors.”
