Hideout Hotel will open in May in Trinity Square.

Hull developer to launch boutique hotel in the heart of City of Culture

As visitors flock to the 2017 City of Culture, a Hull-based developer is set to open a boutique Apartment Hotel in the heart of the Old Town.

Allenby Commercial will start taking online bookings next month for Hideout Hotel, which will open in May in Trinity Square - adjacent to the newly named Hull Minster.

The developer has used its own construction teams and local suppliers to convert the derelict three floors of retail and office units into 15 one and two-bedroom apartments.

Hideout Hotel is within walking distance of the marina and Fruit Market area which has become Hull’s main festival district.

The hotel can accommodate around 40 guests, with the property designed specifically to ensure each unit has a direct view of the Minster. Each apartment includes a living/dining area, a workspace and a kitchen equipped with sink, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven and kettle.

Guests will be able to book wedding packages and other special events and can order hampers, cycle hire and other services.

Hotelier Georgia Allenby said: “Everything is on track and we can’t wait for Hideout to open. It’s a fantastic location and a perfect fit with all the amazing things that are happening in our city.”

“Hideout Hotel will support a wide range of local businesses. Bars, restaurants and shops will benefit because we don’t intend to offer a food and drink service, whilst furniture makers and artists will also benefit because we are incorporating their work into the building.”

Georgia added: “We wanted to create the sort of place that we’d book ourselves when staying out of town. Hull has so much to offer, I want everyone who visits to love it like I do, but this is so much better because everything is right on the doorstep.

“There are many quirky pubs, café bars and restaurants around the marina, in Princes Dock Street and throughout the Old Town, which is perfect for an Apartment Hotel.

“It means we will provide a modern, quality space with a vintage character where people are comfortable to eat in but have all sorts of nearby options if they go out. We want to give visitors to the city an affordable, quality, easy experience in the midst of a stunning location - just as the whole world is watching.”
