Access to Higher Education - an alternative route
If you would like to go to university but left school without the qualifications you need, then an Access to Higher Education course could be for you!
Did you know that every year, over 200,000 Access to HE students achieve the Access to HE Diploma and progress to university courses throughout the UK and 90.5% of Higher Education leavers with an Access to HE diploma were in employment or further study six months after they completed their course? (stats from accesstohe.ac.uk)
The Access to Higher Education programme is designed for adults aged 19 years and over who don’t have the traditional qualifications needed to get into university.
TyneMet’s Access to HE courses provide the opportunity to return to study for those who wish to return to education or are looking to take their career in a different direction. With a range of Access to HE diplomas on offer, including Education, Health and Humanities, there is something out there for everyone.
As the only Access to HE provider in the borough, an Access course at TyneMet College will provide a good foundation of the knowledge and skills required for studying at university level, so that students are confident and well prepared when they go onto Higher Education.
