Lendlease tipped for £2bn Haringey regeneration scheme
Lendlease look set to fend off competition from the likes of Morgan Sindall and Pinnacle for a multi-billion pound regeneration scheme in Haringey that will deliver 5,000 new homes to the area.
The developer was put forward as the recommended development partner for the £2bn north London regeneration programme centered around the development of a new town centre and houses at Wood Green in a council report published on Monday.
It outlined its recommendations that Haringey Council cabinet members should approve the developer as the preferred partner the the Haringey Development Vehicle, a 50/50 joint-venture between the developer and the local council.
The council is scheduled to meet on Tuesday 14 February to make a formal decision on the contract where it is expected to rubberstamp the agreement with Lendlease to deliver an initial 5,000 new homes in the borough.
Haringey council leader Claire Kober commented: “Growth is at the heart of our ambitions for Haringey and we aim to create thousands of new houses and jobs to give Haringey residents the opportunity to prosper and to enjoy their own home.
“Approving Lendlease as the preferred bidder for the project is a critical and exciting step towards delivering the jobs and homes that Haringey needs.”
Lendlease had originally been shortlisted with Morgan Sindall, Affinity Sutton, Circle Housing and Pinnacle, Starwood Capital and Catalyst.
