Revenues near £3m at Manchester IT firm King of Servers

IT firm King of Servers achieved a record seven-figure revenue last year.

The Manchester-based company saw its takings near the £3m mark by the end of 2016, a rise of 26% against the previous year’s figure.

King of Servers also drove its average monthly profits up by 160% compared to 2015.

In 2017, the business will target further growth after branching out into what it said is a more “technologically advanced” product range.

In addition to its storage, networking and components offer, King of Servers now provides converged solutions and security solutions.

Albie Attias, the firm’s MD, commented: “Despite drastic shifts in the market and economic uncertainty in 2016, I am delighted that the business has still managed to achieve significant growth.”

Discussing the company’s diversified range, Albie said: “Previously, many of the customers we dealt with knew what they wanted to purchase, and were shopping around for the best price. The new products require a more consultation-based sales approach.

“By definition, these solutions are bespoke, configured units that cannot be advertised online with a ticket price. Customers may not necessarily be fully aware of the benefits of converged systems or of the cost benefit over time.”

He added: “This has meant training our sales staff so that they are able to offer comprehensive advice on the new products, and convey the benefits of convergence.”
