Construction work on ‘major’ Spinningfields tower development tops out
Construction work on No.1 Spinningfields, a new commercial tower in the centre of Manchester, has reached its highest point this week at 92m.
The latest milestone in the development of the 19-storey, Grade-A commercial property, which forms the final part of the wider Spinningfields masterplan, will be officially celebrated with a topping out ceremony later this month (February 17).
Due for completion in the summer, No.1 Spinningfields will create 300,000 sq ft of commercial space, including a D&D rooftop restaurant, Marks & Spencer food hall and business lounge.
Further, the scheme’s Field and Pavilion areas will provide new hospitality and green space.

Allied London chief exec Michael Ingall said: “This is the final major development at Spinningfields.
“I want to congratulate BAM for the way they have gone about the construction of this building. We are now very firmly sprinting towards the finishing line of delivering what will be Manchester’s most outstanding commercial working environment.”
He added: “With nearly a full house of occupiers, we are now working on the development of the amenity areas in partnership with our hospitality and restaurant partners. We will reveal our designs and detail of this in the spring.”
Manchester City Council Leader Sir Richard Leese commented: “Manchester continues to be on the up and I welcome this latest addition to its skyline.
“Spinningfields is a vibrant district which has made a major contribution to the city centre, generating new jobs and leisure opportunities, and I welcome Allied London’s continuing investment in the area.”
