Lichfields to create 10 jobs following Manchester move
Lichfields, the national planning and development consultancy, is moving into larger premises in Manchester as it prepares to recruit additional staff and grow its regional presence.
The firm will relocate from One St James’ Square to Ship Canal House on King Street.
Office head Michael Watts, a senior director at Lichfields, said the company plans to expand its Manchester team this year from 20 to 30.
Michael explained: “The office opened with four staff in 2002 and we have grown our client base and profile over the last 15 years.
“Our new home will help deliver a higher-quality environment for staff with break out areas and better meeting rooms, and will allow for expansion in the numbers being employed.”
He added: “Initially we are employing a graduate planner but other staff will follow and we can now accommodate for a 35% expansion in staff numbers.”
In 2016, Lichfields submitted a planning application for a 1.4 million sq ft logistics base in St Helens, 1,000 dwellings at Yew Tree Farm in Burscough and a further 1,000 in Halewood, Knowsley.
The £20m-revenue firm has this month rebranded from Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners.
Lichfields’ chief executive, James Fennell, commented: “We celebrate our 55th anniversary this year and this is the latest example of how we are adapting to ensure we are in the best position to deliver growth and success.
“As we continue to grow we are relishing the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
