North Yorkshire food producer to create 50 new jobs as sausage factory nears completion

HECK, the North Yorkshire food producer, has announced that 50 new jobs will be created once its sausage factory in Sinderby, North Yorkshire, opens at the end of April.

The family-owned food firm is set to recruit self-starters and team players to the team, with a wide variety of roles on offer across HR, finance, purchasing and production. Digital and marketing positions will also be available.

HECK was founded by husband and wife team Andrew and Debbie Keeble and three of their children in 2013.

The gourmet food company, which makes premium sausages, burgers and meatballs from its base in Bedale, is on track to turn over £18m this year.

Company co-founder Andrew Keeble, said: “We look for people with confidence - people who have personality and a can-do attitude.

“Of course there are specialist roles within the business but we’re very open to the idea of people changing career paths.

“That’s what’s brilliant about Heck — there are no job titles and there’s no glass ceiling.”

Jack Tate, the firm’s marketing and events planner who has been with the company for five years, added: “Anybody can make a good fit but it’s great if you are forward-thinking, fun, spontaneous, willing and self-driven. We’re very much all in it together.”

With a team of 70 staff, sales have grown 170% a year and the firm’s products are now stocked in all of the major supermarkets.

HECK wasrecently ranked the UK’s 4th fastest growing private company and Yorkshire’s fastest growing company in the annual Sunday times Virgin Fast Track 100.
