Stockton-headquartered Mobile Mini unlocks revenue growth with £7.9m investment
International portable accommodation and storage container company Mobile Mini achieved record sales in 2016.
The firm’s annual revenue hit £59.9m last year, up 3.8% against 2015’s figure.
Mobile Mini, which has its UK headquarters in Stockton on Tees, partly attributed the record income to the £7.9m it invested in growing its UK hire fleet of storage containers and portable toilets, offices and canteens.
Mobile Mini’s fleet now stands at nearly 40k units across 16 branches.
Of the seven-figure investment, £3.7m was ploughed into the acquisition of new fuel-efficient delivery vehicles, with 15 trucks replaced and eight added to the fleet.
Mobile Mini MD Chris Morgan said: “2016 has been another successful year in terms of growth, with continued investment in our people, products and equipment.
“Expansion across the country means we’re confident we will always have the right products on offer for our customers when they need them.”
He continued: “As we move through the next 12 months, we’re determined to maintain our market leading position by continuing to invest in growing and refurbishing our fleet, as well as the talented team at the company.”
Mobile Mini rounded off 2016 with two acquisitions, snapping up Gateshead firm Containers 2000 and Ipswich-headquartered Mr Box.
