This week’s Yorkshire appointments
Gest Walker, the York-based solicitors, has made two new appointments, with both a commercial property solicitor and a paralegal joining.
Sean Gallagher has been appointed as the new commercial property solicitor at Guest Walker. He has specialised in this area of the law since qualifying in 2005 and joins the firm from Leeds based Ison Harrison Solicitors.
Sean has developed a niche in residential development infrastructure, which he will be using to help the business to expand further in this area.
Ava Krajniewski joins Guest Walker as a paralegal with big firm experience having worked for Addleshaw Goddard in Leeds for two years. Ava graduated from university in 2012 and has since completed her LPC at the University of Law in Leeds.
She will be working alongside one of the firm’s director’s, John Walker, assisting him with his caseload and aiming in due course to complete her training contract with the firm.

Katie Hindmarsh, LCF Barber Titleys
LCF Barber Titleys, the Harrogate-based law firm, has expanded its personal law team with the appointment of solicitor Katie Hindmarsh.
Katie brings more than seven years’ worth of legal experience to the firm, which is part of Yorkshire-based LCF Law, after she graduated from York’s College of Law in 2009.
She now specialises in wills, probate, administration of estates, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications.
Katie has also passed the Solicitors for the Elderly examination, has completed the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Awareness Course and is currently studying for The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ Diploma in Trusts and Estates.

Ian Hessay, Mulgrave Properties
Mulgrave Properties, the Easingwold-based property developer, has appointed Ian Hessay as its new managing director.
A chartered surveyor, Ian joins Mulgrave Properties as managing director from his previous role as divisional director at Linden Homes. Prior to his time working for Linden Homes, Ian was managing director at Persimmon York between 2000 and 2008.
Ian Hessay said: “Mulgrave Properties is operating in a hugely exciting niche market within the industry.
“I am looking forward to driving the development and growth of the business as we continue to take the opportunity to build on unique sites which are too small for the large national house builders, however hugely attractive to us and our target audience.

Steve Rowe, CreativeRace
CreativeRace, the integrated communications agency, continues to develop the Leeds team by hiring Steve Rowe as design director.
Steve Rowe joined CreativeRace last week, where he will be responsible for overseeing the design outputs for clients including ASDA, Greggs, DFS and Coral.
Steve joins with over twenty years’ experience in the design industry. Having previously worked in both full-service and design-specific agencies, Steve’s client experience includes Mamas & Papas, Arla, Aldi, Cloetta, Barclays and Akzo Nobel, with specialisms in branding, brand development and packaging.
For the past four years, Steve held the role of creative director for Danish company, Agency Spring, where he was based from their Manchester office.
In his new role, Steve will lead the creative team and work to evolve the design outputs of CreativeRace, growing the reputation of the agency both locally and nationally.

Neil Terrett, Strata
Strata, the Doncaster-based private home-builder, has appointed Neil Terrett as strategic land director designate, adding further support to the team to meet with its projected growth over the next 18-months.
Responsible for engaging with landowners, agents and professionals to identify residential development opportunities, instigate and conclude contractual negotiations with vendors and deliver market facing planning consents, Neil brings a wealth of experience to the team.
Formerly an associate director at Harworth Estates plc and previously with Redrow Group, Royal Bank of Scotland, CALA and David Wilson Homes, Neil is looking forward to the next step in his property career.
