Leeds entrepreneur shines as newest business venture surpasses £200k turnover mark in first year
Leeds-based Marvellous Glow has reported record results for its first year in business, supplying giant carnival letter lights for events and weddings across the UK.
The business was launched by entrepreneur Paul Panayi 12 months ago when he recognised a gap in the market for hire of carnival-style lights.
This week, Paul has reported an annual turnover of over £200k after handling more than 450 bookings throughout the first year of business.
Over the past 12 months, Marvellous Glow’s giant letter lighting have featured at a wide range of events from hospitality for Beyonce to Pretty Little Thing’s Christmas party, with clients including YouTube and Esquire Magazine.
Paul Panayi, director of Marvellous Glow, commented: “This time last year we set out with just 50 handmade letters, number and ampersands and a handful of bookings.
“12 months on, the business is going from strength-to-strength; we now have four full-time members of staff and already have a diary filling up with booking for the next two years.
“Our letters really do add wow factor to any event, whether it’s birthday parties, weddings or corporate events.
“As well as supplying lights to clients across the UK, we’ve seen demand for our products in more sunny climes, which is why this year, we will be expanding with the launch of Marvellous Glow in Marbella, Spain, where we have already taken a number of bookings.”
