Warrington’s Surf & Turf Instant Shelters to expand internationally with RBS funding

Warrington-based Surf & Turf Instant Shelters is using a five-figure funding package from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to drive its growth plans forward.

The firm, which operates from an office and warehouse at Tatton Court, Kingsland Grange, will use the RBS working capital facility to import increased levels of stock from China and meet a growing demand for its products.

The funding will also help Surf & Turf achieve a turnover of £3m this year and support its evolving product lines.

Operating across the UK and through partners in Europe, the US and Canada.

Surf & Turf has named international expansion as a key objective for growth, with plans in the pipeline for a new warehouse in central Europe.

Simon Lunt, managing director of Surf & Turf, said: “This is a very busy time of year for the team as we look to support customers who are focused on what products they need in 2017 to promote their business activities.

“Demand has increased and the funding provided by the bank is helping us to grow with confidence and increase our stock levels knowing we have the required working capital in place.”

He added: “It is also supporting our ongoing commitment to product development as look to expand our range of bespoke shelter and promotional solutions.”

Founded in 2001, Surf & Turf supplies branded and plain instant shelters, marquees, inflatable tents, feather flags, banners and displays for events, exhibitions, markets and the motorsport and leisure industries.

The family-run company’s 16-strong workforce includes Simon’s wife Corinne and adult son Daniel, who is business’ general manager.

RBS relationship manager Gavin Elmes commented: “Surf & Turf Instant Shelters are a fantastic local success story that continues to grow as demand for their product increases.

“The funding in place is supporting their growth strategy which includes international expansion.”
