London mindfulness entrepreneur launches employee wellness startup
A startup that is looking to promote the mental health and wellbeing of UK workers has been launched in London this week by seasoned mindfulness entrepreneur, Dimple Sthankiya.
Her new company, Voyage & Soap, is hoping to become a global leader in corporate and business wellness, providing mindfulness tools, advice and lifestyle content to clients through its platform.
Utilising a corporate subscription model which can presumably form a part of a company’s employee benefits package, the startup claims its wellness and fitness resources and benefits will do a better job of promoting employee wellness than standard benefits such as gym memberships and the like.
Dimple, who has 18 years’ experience as a performance consultant to C-suite executive, believes that there are manifold reasons for underperformance in the workplace that her new venture helps to address.
She commented: “We go to work for different reasons and have differing levels of ambition and experience, yet we all face similar situations which can knock our confidence, make us tired, irritable and make us underperform. The list goes on.
“Voyage & Soap acknowledges that people want access to good quality recommendations when they travel for business or pleasure, as well as trusted wellness advice and solid bite-sized mindfulness training to help them cope with professional pressures.”
Centered around wellness exercises through its app and complemented by lifestyle tips and resources, including restaurant recommendations and local exercise classes, Dimple believes the app-centric approach allows employees to access support privately if they wish, without having to resort to ‘monitored services’ such as helplines and counselling.
Voyage & Soap came about after Dimple exited from her previous performance consultancy venture in 2012, when she decided to focus full-time on corporate coaching across the banking and finance sector, which led into her latest endeavour.
“I want to create a business that’s scalable globally across both travel and mindfulness for both consumers and businesses to ultimately help people cope better and feel happier in all aspects of their lives,” said Dimple.
