Lancashire entrepreneurs team up for new venture No Paste Wallpaper
Two Lancashire entrepreneurs have launched a new venture after identifying a market gap for a wallpaper that requires no paste.
Commercial interior design consultant Beverley Wood, from BWD Ltd, and Mark Forrest of Dynasty Wallcoverings Ltd have established Lytham St. Annes-based No Paste Wallpaper.
The duo plan to market their pasteless wallpaper product to the commercial sector as a cost-effective alternative to Foamex or vinyl backdrops.
In particular, it will be geared towards companies operating in retail, where seasonal trends call for frequent background changes.
No Paste Wallpaper’s core offering cuts out the need for adhesive and can be directly applied to walls or panels sprayed with water. The product is also completely PVC free.
Eventually, Beverley and Mark will target the consumer market.
The duo are now in talks with designers and illustrators, and said they are keen to bring fresh talent on board with their new company. They also intend to put together a customer service team and take on up to five new employees in the next three years.
While No Paste Wallpaper will initially focus on the UK, the long-term goal is to gain footholds in Europe and America.
The company was launched with support from Boost, Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub.
Beverley commented: “Everybody we have spoken to so far has been so impressed with the product. It is really exciting to be bringing this to the wall coverings market.
“The support we have received through the Boost workshops has helped to plan our business strategy. We are both running successful companies and have a great deal of business experience and knowledge however, the Boost programme was a good opportunity to refocus our attention.”
She added: “There is always the risk of being too excited and not well prepared when starting a new business venture – this was a chance for us to identify our markets and make sure we have everything we need in place.”
