What do you think of Liverpool FC’s £50m Kirkby development?

A public consultation being held today (March 8) will gather the views of Kirkby residents and businesses on Liverpool FC’s plans to invest millions in its Academy site.

In February, the club revealed joint plans with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council for a proposed £50m redevelopment of the site.

Locals will have the opportunity to view the plans in detail, discuss the proposals with the project team and provide feedback.

Representatives of LFC and the council will be available for questions alongside planning, construction and transport professionals.

The club is hoping to consolidate its first team and Academy football training operations with the construction of an all-new combined training facility.

The plans also outline the redevelopment of the site’s existing facilities, including the installation of an upgraded pitch, a new spectators’ viewing stand and a covered full-size pitch.

As part of the masterplan, Knowsley Council wants to create new and improved football pitches and sports facilities in the area. The authority said it is working closely with several local football teams, including Kirkby AFC.

The consultation is taking place at Northwood Community Centre in Kirkby between 2pm and 8pm.
