Greenlight for three-block residential scheme in Manchester
Property firm Urban & Civic has received a resolution to grant planning consent for a 351-home scheme in the centre of Manchester.
Manchester City Council is giving the thumbs up for three new residential buildings, ranging from 11 to 15 storeys, on the corner of Princess Street and Whitworth Street.
The Simpson Haugh-designed scheme, to be known as Manchester New Square, will comprise a landscaped square, ground-level restaurant and retail space, a residents’ gym and 24-hour concierge services.
Urban & Civic property director Philip Leech said: “This is very good news – the site has been vacant for a number of years and everyone will be pleased to see our high quality development start on site this Spring.
“Manchester New Square will deliver the best new apartments in the city for at least a decade.”
Apartments at Manchester New Square will be available to purchase off plan at the end of April.
The first phase is due for completion by Summer 2019.
