Entrepreneurs launch animal daycare business with BFS startup loan

Entrepreneurs Luke Millington and Jason Morgan have realised their dream of launching an animal daycare company.

The duo established Stay N Play Doggy Daycare with a startup loan from Business Finance Solutions (BFS), the North West delivery partner for the Government’s £310m Start Up Loans programme.

Based in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, the company’s aim is to provide a safe and stimulating environment for pets while their owners are at work or otherwise unable to look after them.

Luke and Jason also offer a range of grooming and dog training services, with plans to expand into retailing pet products and personalised gifts.

Having previously worked in retail, Luke is now a fully trained City & Guilds dog groomer and stylist. Jason likewise holds several qualifications in animal care and grooming.

Luke commented: “Thanks to the loan from BFS we have been able to launch our business as a high quality destination that offers something really different to dog owners locally.

“Our expert day care, grooming and behavioural training is delivered by a really dedicated team here. Our number one priority is the happiness and wellbeing of the animals we care for.”

BFS loan manager John Cannon said: “Like many of the entrepreneurs we work with, Luke and Jason spotted the potential for a new business that offered longer hours and a wider variety of services to fit the demands of busy dog owners.

“They have used their Start Up Loan to get the business off the ground quickly, their state-of-the-art facilities enable them to offer a top class and competitive canine care service in north Manchester.”

He added: “With 25% of households in the UK now owning at least one dog, there is great potential for the Stay n Play business to grow and expand for years to come.”
