Everton new stadium: Deal reached on Bramley Moore dock

Everton FC have agreed a deal to acquire land at Bramley Moore dock – the preferred of two brownfield sites originally targeted for the club’s new stadium.

The Blues have now reached a financial agreement with landowner Peel Holdings, paving the way for plans to move out of their historic home at Goodison Park.

According to the Guardian, details of the agreement with Peel are yet to be disclosed.

It is also not understood how Liverpool City Council, which is heavily involved in the project, will help facilitate the construction of a stadium within Merseyside’s historic dockland area.

A formal announcement is expected later today (March 23).

Peel initially gave Everton an approximate figure of £30m for the Bramley Moore dock. However, the Guardian has reported that the land’s final price is expected to be lower.

Everton will only acquire the land once funding for the wider stadium development is in place.
