Software provider Airsweb launches an offline mobile application for field workers
Airsweb is a leading global provider of health & safety and environment software. It provides web-based solutions that enable you to maximise compliance and minimise risk.
Airsweb has launched an offline mobile application enabling field workers to effectively and efficiently enter data into their Airsweb without any synchronization or connectivity issues.
This offline application has a responsive design to fit various tablet and smart phone formats, and has been created with ease-of-use and accessibility for smaller screen formats in mind.
There are several aspects and benefits to the mobile application. The main benefit of this mobile technology is that the data is captured there and then in the field, rather than later when the details could be forgotten. The application also allows the user to download and input all the information with ease.
Audit management - this allows the user to complete a full audit entry simply and effectively. The process begins by scheduling specific audits to be downloaded to the device. After syncing your device, all of the audits will be downloaded and ready to use.
The user will then be greeted with a series of tabs and corresponding questions. Each question has the possibility of a different scoring mechanism, the ability to denote any findings, upload any relevant file attachments or photos, and the user will also be able to add actions to be taken and text comments.
Once the audit has been completed, the audit would be locked on to the device until another ‘sync’ has taken place, after which the audit would appear on your desktop version of Airsweb.
Behavioural safety (pro-active safety) - this benefit means the user can easily record safety observations easily from the mobile device. The user would begin by entering the initial details of where the observation is taking place and what the user is observing. The user can select the observation from a menu, and this will then lead the user to a pop up window where the necessary process will be explained. The user will then identify the cause of the at-risk behaviour and the relative actions taken to mitigate any further risks to the organisation.
Unwanted events - this section gives you the ability to enter any accident, incident, near miss etc. whilst offline. The structure and workflow has been streamlined to reduce the amount of input time ensuring that only the necessary information is captured. The application also allows for evidence to be uploaded, so users can take a photograph as and when the event has taken place and attach it to be displayed at the bottom of the data capture form.
The main benefits of this application is the time saving element for the field worker. This app is a much more streamlined way of undertaking audits, whilst being able to upload photo evidence and making notes.
However, the most notable benefit for everyone using is the application is that it is a purely offline tool. Wherever the field worker may be, audits and information is still able to be processed and saved without any internet connection. Once connected to a computer, the application will sync up and all the information will be saved on the desktop version of Airsweb.
The Airsweb Mobile application is readily available to clients of Airsweb for free download on the Google Play Store and Apple Store.
