Nearly 100 jobs up for grabs at BT’s Warrington contact centre
BT has revealed plans to create 97 new jobs at its contact centre in Warrington.
The announcement forms part of a UK-wide recruitment drive, as the telecoms giant looks to transform its customer service offer and answer 90% of calls in the UK and Ireland.
Since April last year, BT has taken on 157 new staff at the Warrington facility. The firm now employs almost 9,400 people in the North West, of whom 1,300 are based in Cheshire.
The company said the new positions will comprise both sales and help and service roles.
BT customer care MD Libby Barr said: “Up and down the country, we’re welcoming hundreds of new staff, who have a passion for doing the right thing for our customers.
“They’re joining at an exciting time in our transformation. We are investing millions of pounds improving our systems, providing more training and enhancing our online services.”
She added: “It will result in a better service for our customers and even more rewarding careers for our people. Our Warrington team is an important part of this exciting growth story.”
BT’s North West regional board chairman, Mike Blackburn, commented: “We have been impressed with the high quality of our Warrington recruits. They show great enthusiasm and a determination to provide customers with a first class service.
“Since April last year, we have recruited more than 157 people at BT’s Warrington contact centre in Europa Boulevard, Westbrook as part of our commitment to provide the best possible service for our customers. Following on from that success, we are now looking for a further 97 people to join us.”
BT said it will hold an open evening at its Warrington contact centre from 6pm to 8pm on April 12.
BT’s Consumer division expects to fill a further 900 positions across the UK by spring this year and has committed to spending an extra £80m over two years to boost performance.
